Daniel Ray Coffman (DOB 03/31/54) guilty of three counts of
felony grand theft. After a two-week trial, Coffman, a former
resident of Westlake Village, was found guilty of defrauding
an Oak Park woman. The case was investigated by the Ventura
County District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigation
and the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Thomas Heath
(DOB: 4/1/1947), of Ventura, was sentenced by Ventura County
Superior Court Judge David Hirsch to 35 years to life in prison
for dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, threatening
a witness for giving information to law enforcement, promoting
the felonious criminal conduct of the Hells Angels, and doing
all of the above after having been convicted of four prior
strike offenses.

(DOB 10/18/72) of Ventura was sentenced by Ventura County
Superior Court Judge Charles Campbell to 12 years in prison
for stealing a motorcycle on behalf of the Hells Angels in
an attempt to punish a member for leaving the gang, committing
the crime while out on bail in another criminal case, and
committing the crime after having been sentenced to prison
on three prior occasions.

of the review of the allegations against Arthur Joe Lopez,
a former member of the Oxnard School District Board of Trustees,
for misappropriating public funds. The District Attorney's
Office has rejected the case for prosecution because charges
cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

found Thomas Heath (DOB 4/1/47), of Ventura, guilty of dissuading

District Court of Appeal has upheld the indictment of Joshua
Packer. A grand jury indicted Packer on three counts of first

7, 2011, Judge Kevin McGee sentenced Melissa Lopez (DOB 03/16/1970),
of Ventura, to five years in prison, and Cheryl Figueroa (04/15/1965),

of felony charges of conspiracy, grand theft and computer
fraud. The case against Lopez and Figueroa resulted from an
investigation by the Ventura Police Department.

degree murder of 23-year-old Alberto Avalos during a drive-by

the murder was committed to further the activities of "The
Boyz" criminal street gang.

Santos (DOB 10/07/55), of Ventura, was sentenced to 365 days
in jail and placed on formal probation for a term of 60 months
by Ventura County Superior Court Judge Edward Brodie. Santos
was also ordered to pay approximately $48,000 in restitution
to her 15 victims as a term of probation.

was sentenced to serve 18 years in state prison for stealing
approximately $850,000 in cash and vehicles from Simi Valley
Cycles (SVC) and evading state income taxes on the money.
Zito had been found guilty of 18 felonies.

to three felony counts arising out of a series of real estate
transactions. The crimes are alleged to have occurred during

not discovered until January 2008.

criminal complaint against Jeffery Donnel Vines (DOB 7/24/48),
of Ojai, alleging three felony counts of possession of child
pornography by a registered sex offender. The charges against
Vines are the result of an investigation conducted by the
Ventura County Sheriff's Department, with assistance from
the Southern California High Technology Task Force.

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Jose Antonio
Medina Arreguin (a.k.a. Don Pepe) was sentenced to serve 22
years in state prison. This comes as a result of the defendant
pleading guilty to the charge that he conspired to possess
heroin for sale in violation of Penal Code section 182(a)
(1), Health and Safety Code section 11351, and admitting the
special allegation that the amount of heroin exceeded 40 kilograms
by weight pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 11370.4(a)(5).

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that the Real Estate
Fraud Prosecution Unit has filed a seven-count felony complaint
against Larry Curtis Waltz (DOB 10/18/44) of Ventura. The
complaint charges Waltz with one count of theft from an elder
(Penal Code §
368(d)),
five counts of grand theft (Penal Code §
487(a))
and one count of recording a false document (Penal Code §
115(a)).

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Judge Edward
F. Brodie sentenced Charles William Proctor (DOB 11/24/64)
of Ventura to three years probation and 60 days in Ventura
County jail for charges arising out of an undercover operation
by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive
Repair (BAR), involving smog testing fraud.

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Jose Antonio
Medina Arreguin (a.k.a. Don Pepe) pled guilty during an early
disposition conference to the charge that he conspired to
possess heroin for sale in violation of Penal Code section
182(a)(1) and Health and Safety Code section 11351. Arreguin
also admitted as true a special allegation that the amount
of heroin exceeded 40 kilograms by weight pursuant to Health
and Safety Code section 11370.4(a)(5).

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Luis Ortega
(DOB 5/10/90), of Newbury Park, was sentenced by Ventura
County Superior Court Judge Rebecca Riley to life without
the possibility of parole plus 25 years to life in prison
for the killing of Juan Nabte, age 21.

Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Enrique Sandoval
Martinez (DOB: 01/19/65), formerly of Thousand Oaks, was sentenced
to the maximum term of 15 years imprisonment after a jury
convicted him of six felonies involving real estate fraud
on December 2, 2010.

District Attorneys, the California Attorney General, and the
city attorneys in San Diego and Los Angeles , announced today
that a settlement has been reached in a civil law-enforcement
action filed against Target Corporation in Alameda County
in June 2009.

(DOB 12/7/75), of Oxnard, was sentenced by Judge Nancy Ayers
to 11 years and 4 months in state prison after pleading guilty
to 12 counts of auto theft, possession of a firearm by a felon

February 22, 2011, Maria Victoria Santos (DOB 10/07/55) of
Ventura pled guilty to four felony counts of unlawful act
by a foreclosure consultant, in violation of California Civil
Code section 2945.4, and four felony counts of grand theft,
in violation of California Penal Code section 487(a).

McCowan (DOB 7/5/60) pleaded guilty to three felony counts
