In 1989, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office became the first office in California to successfully introduce D.N.A. "genetic fingerprinting" evidence in a criminal case.



The Code Enforcement Unit  prosecutes violations of county ordinances in a variety of areas, including building and safety, public health, and property maintenance. Cases are usually presented to the unit through the county Resource Management Agency.
