District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that Colonia gang member, Julio Solis (DOB 7/30/86) was sentenced to 21 years in prison after a jury convicted him of committing a gang robbery.

 

On March 8, 2007, Solis robbed his victim at knifepoint in front of the victim's home in the city of Oxnard . On August 18, 2009, a jury convicted Solis of street terrorism, robbery, and the special allegation that the robbery was committed for the benefit of the criminal street gang, Colonia Chiques. He faced a maximum 27 years, 4 months in prison based on that conviction.

 

At the time of the March 2007 incident, Solis had only recently been paroled for a robbery he committed in 2004.
