National Crime Victims' Rights Week

District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced today that April 13 -19, 2008, is National Crime Victims' Rights Week. During this week, crime victims, service providers, criminal and juvenile justice and other professionals, and community volunteers will join together to recognize the needs and rights of crime victims.

 

The Ventura County District Attorney's Office will be holding the annual Crime Victims' Rights Week program on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. This year's ceremony will include remarks by Cyndy Ovalle, News Director, Cumulus Media Stations. Awards will be presented to honor those who, through vision, action, and leadership, have improved the lives of victims in the aftermath of crime. This year's award recipients are Patti Caputo, Interface Children Family Services, Carlos Martinez, Ellie Liston Crime Victims' Assistance Program, and Detective Jim Brittle, Ventura Police Department.

 

We invite you to attend and join our collective reflection and recommitment to victims' rights and services. The program will be held at the County Government Center in the central fountain area at 800 South Victoria Avenue, in Ventura, at noon.
